I am excited about this new update to Google Docs. Under the File > Page Setup menu, you can choose to go pageless. You can even set this choice as the default.
In schools this allows much more real estate on the page for what you might want to project. In some cases, it might be more useful to demonstrate and communicate information on Google Docs by scrolling than using multiple slides. The easy scrolling allows for one to go back and forth.
For student writing going pageless can be a positive for students who equate digital writing to analog writing. Rather than focusing on length, going pageless can focus the attention more on content.
Granted for some students, having a page break provides a needed break in information that is not as clear with going pageless. Something to keep in mind as I began experimenting with additional use cases in schools. I look forward to playing with this new updated feature.
